Born to Be With You – by the Daily Post

Born to Be With You

Got a soul-mate and/or a best friend? What is it about that person that you love best? Describe them in great detail — leave no important quality out.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I found my best friend very late in life. We met each other about 7, maybe 8 years ago on an internet group. We live around 5 miles from each other and with similar interests we decided to meet in person. I was around 50 then and she is around 9 or 10 years older than me.
We met at a local restaurant and she told me she would be wearing red shoes. That was how I was to know who she was. We found each other immediately. The group we met in could be a very judgmental group, but we don’t judge each other. We help each other out. We talk things through and she has some good ideas that have helped me a lot.
Now when I say she doesn’t judge me I mean exactly that. She knew somewhat about my mental illnesses, but the real test came when I was hospitalized for attempting suicide. She, who doesn’t drive at night or that far usually, had her husband bring her to visit me at the hospital. She told me, “I would only do this for you!” Now that is love.
She is also a strong woman. She is a breast cancer survivor and she didn’t fall apart like most people with cancer do. She set about to annihilate that cancer. She had surgery and radiation and she is almost at her 5 year anniversary. She is hanging in there even though the medications make her sick and give her pain. She is always upbeat and brings me up when I am down.
I thank God for bringing her into my life. She is my angel.
