Bedtime Stories – prompt by The Daily Post

Bedtime Stories

What was your favorite book as a child? Did it influence the person you are now?

I would have to say I didn’t have a favorite book. I had three favorite series.

I read the Nancy Drew series, The Hardy Boys series and the Bobbsey Twins series.

ย As far as it influencing the person I am I would have to say no!. I don’t remember much about the Bobbsey Twins, but I am sure they were always in trouble and that just wasn’t me.

As for Nancy Drew and the Hardy Boys, you know they were not always in trouble, but also in danger from their investigations of the mysteries. I may be nosy, but not to the point of getting myself in trouble or danger.ย

Oh me too. I also loved the Hardy Boys though they were mainly written I think for boys. It was a great mystery and I always have loved mystery stories.

I loved the Little house series, the lion, witch and the wardrobe series and Charlotte web (honestly I read those over and over until high school) they taught me that things could get better with a little more imagination.

I was addicted to Enid Blyton and Nancy Drew series. I would “inspect” the laundry for clues and delay my mom’s chores. ๐Ÿ˜€ I miss those days. Whenever I read your blog, you usually take me back to my childhood. ๐Ÿ™‚ Thank you!

Enid Blyton was my childhood favourite! But I started to read thicker books since 7 like the Harry Potter and The Chronicles of Narnia series.

I have never heard of Enid Blyton. I can’t get into those fantasy stories and therefore have not read any of them. My sister and her daughter go nuts over Harry Potter and pre-order his books.
