School loans discharged, due to permanent and total disability (SSDI)

3 years ago when I received my SSDI I asked Sallie Mae how to discharge my loans due to permanent disability. I filled out all the forms and got the doctor’s signature and information and filed all paperwork required.

I was put on a monitoring program for 3 years. No working, income from any type of employment and no school, especially applying for school loans to go to school. I followed all rules and 3 years later my loans were discharged.

At least I can rest my fears that the loan will be re-instated. I am on SSDI and they don’t give you enough to even live on simply and yet I am still not considered at the poor zone. I do get a little help with my medical and medicare.

I thank God that my father opened his home to me and my grown son who was also struggling.
