Fibro Fog Funnies

As some of you know I don’t just suffer from mental disorders. I also have many physical disorders one of which is Fibromyalgia. Now Fibromyalgia is usually nothing to laugh about at least at the time these things happen, but weeks later I can laugh about the things my “Fibro Fog” causes. I thought I would keep this post on the bright side instead of the usual downers I go through and give you some examples.

Fibro Fog Funnies:

  • sitting in car for 20 minutes before remembering I was supposed to go to work
  • forgetting how to get to work
  • forgetting where I am going
  • finally remembering where but can’t remember how to get there
  • forget which is my right or left foot or hand
  • went to library to the book drop and put my leftover food on the door – saw it just before closing it and dumping it in
  • stared at the washing machine for about 10 minutes before I could figure out how to use it
  • can’t remember words and have to describe them (the small round red fruit -what is it called)
  • stop dead during conversations because I lose my train of thought and this was really bad when I worked in a phone call center and not only forgot what I wanted to say, I couldn’t remember how to do things I did every day (on SSDI disability now)
  • ice cream in the cabinet
  • crackers in the fridge
  • no longer can do simple math in my head
  • can’t remember if a red light is stop or go, sometimes can’t tell the difference, when it takes my brain awhile I stop and that is dangerous or go and that can be just as dangerous (the other day I suddenly had a panic attack at the light)
  • spelling bee winner who forgets how to spell now
  • leave words out or put in random order while typing something (grammar has gone the way of the 8-track player)

So I hope I gave you some funny things to think about. πŸ™‚

I have some of the very same problems. When you can’t remember how to get to your destination(after struggling to remember where you were going), well, It’s frightening to me. Makes me wonder if I’ll ever get my mind back!

Yes it is frightening. I hope yours is pill-caused because then you have a chance of getting it back once you stop that pill. My Fibromyalgia is my main cause and it isn’t going anywhere.

I find that humor really does help. Otherwise I would cry. I apologize a lot for giving the wrong arm or leg. The chiropractor says to lie on back. I go the other way, he just says your other back. So I laugh.

Wow, I didn’t know that Fibromyalgia exits before this post. It seemed that you are really strong for being able to find the funny side of the condition πŸ™‚

I try to survive finding the funny side of my life. I have been bombarded with medical conditions physical and mental. BUT I have always smiled my whole life, pain or not.
