Therapy today!

My therapist is impressed at my increase in mood stabilization since last week and that I was the one who made the decision. She says I am in a much better mood.

I like being able to adjust my medications for the bipolar myself. I can keep myself controlled and not have to wait for the med nurse to make a decision and possibly run out of meds. I know my body. Hope she agrees to let me continue to control them. She will know what I am on since I can’t write them and if something changes majorly I will keep her advised.

That appointment is on the 12th. So we will see what she says.

Sometimes we, the patients, know our own bodies and minds and should be trusted with something like this. I can correct my moods faster if left alone so far anyhow.

Beautiful. If you can reach her before you commit to taking any actions it might be a good idea. If your clarity has been affected by the disorder, your decision making skills may also be diminished. Just thought it would be advantageous to have a professional corroborate your need for medication prior to self administering.

I did have a short convo with her about it! The intern wanted to let me have control last month and she wasn’t against it, but we couldn’t figure out how to write the scripts so I can do it. I figured out the way. She may not agree. I don’t want this happening again because she goes away and sometimes she doesn’t have internet and she is the only one I am connected to. I know I need the medication. I don’t think she will take me off of it. I just had a crisis and handled it well. And you could be right about diminished decision making skills, but I don’t think so right now. It could certainly come up at any time though. It just happened to come up when I was on my own.
