Treat raised my numbers some…

The milkshake yesterday afternoon, raised my numbers a little bit. Not all the way back up, but up out of the normal range. Have to remember that. It was 133 this morning fasting. If I had fasted longer than 8 hours it might have been lower. I needed breakfast though so had to check it first.

Today I had a treat, will numbers rise?

I had a breakfast bowl – sausage, eggs, potatoes and cheese – 1 serving.

A medium milkshake for lunch.

Piece of pork chop for dinner with a salad.

A small one person bag of popcorn.

And an apple.

Now will the shake earlier today mess up my blood sugar numbers. I will see with the morning’s reading.  I have to test to find out what I can and can’t eat. Sometimes it is a matter of when I eat it as well for the fasting numbers. They don’t give you enough strips to do more than fasting and if you use more you can’t test every day. There is a limit through insurance.

When I had a Walmart meter I checked them much more often. Their strips are $40 for 100 and my new meter’s are $137 for 100 although insurance pays for it all they will only give me one per day. Need to find the Walmart meter for in-between use.

Low fasting sugars 2 days running…

I was 109 yesterday and this morning I am 103. Watching what I eat and eating no later than 8 PM is helping obviously. I try to keep my carb count down and so far doing good. I praise the Lord for letting me see the light.

The symptoms of fibromyalgia is usually at its worst in the morning

The symptoms of fibromyalgia is usually at its worst in the morning and it does not make getting up from bed any easier. The more severe symptoms include:

  • Severe muscle pains
  • Morning stiffness usually in the neck area and the arms
  • Puffiness around the eyes
  • Swollen feet
  • Hurting feet the moment you start walking
  • Exhaustion even after a good night’s sleep

Here are a few I was not familiar with, but sort of guessed since I suffer from them. My stiffness is all over my body though.

Read the article for some suggestions. A bath is out for me because I don’t have a tub and can’t get into or out of one.

Sugars way down today…

I took my fasting sugar this morning and for some reason it was way down to 109. Now that is great. I hope it isn’t a trick, a one-time reading. I didn’t eat after 8 PM and I didn’t have much in the way of carbs either. Both things I was told to do. We shall see, what tomorrow brings.

What is love? (Meatloaf – 2 out of 3 ain’t bad)

What is love? I was married 23 years and I couldn’t tell you. I loathed him, that is what I felt. What a waste of years. Pure hell. Maybe God will guide me to a good guy. I would like to feel what true love is at least once in my life.

Now then there is the married man. I felt what I thought was love for him most of the time until I came to my senses. I was the other woman, not someone he loved. We used each other to be fair. Brings to mind Meatloaf’s song “Two Out of Three Ain’t Bad.

“I want you, I need you, but there ain’t no way I’m ever gonna love you!”

To this day I don’t know what true love is.

Insomnia and Fibromyalgia

Insomnia is the bane of my existence. It affects a lot of things including my Fibromyalgia. One of the causes of pain in Fibromyalgia is the lack of necessary sleep. Our bodies heal overnight while we sleep, but those of us with insomnia and Fibromyalgia have a double whammy. We don’t get the necessary healing time with the little bit of sleep we get. I have insomnia and sleep apnea (cessation of breathing during sleep). I have a BiPap machine for the sleep apnea, but it doesn’t help any especially since the insomnia keeps me awake. Sleeping pills no longer work for me. Even if I fall asleep I am constantly waking up. I am frustrated and in dreadful pain.
