Insomnia and Fibromyalgia

Insomnia is the bane of my existence. It affects a lot of things including my Fibromyalgia. One of the causes of pain in Fibromyalgia is the lack of necessary sleep. Our bodies heal overnight while we sleep, but those of us with insomnia and Fibromyalgia have a double whammy. We don’t get the necessary healing time with the little bit of sleep we get. I have insomnia and sleep apnea (cessation of breathing during sleep). I have a BiPap machine for the sleep apnea, but it doesn’t help any especially since the insomnia keeps me awake. Sleeping pills no longer work for me. Even if I fall asleep I am constantly waking up. I am frustrated and in dreadful pain.

Curious…Have you ever tried Trazadone and or Seroquel for sleep? I used to be on 300mg Seroquel and 400mg Trazadone, which made me sleep for ten plus hours. They are not used as mood stabilizers/or anti depressants, but as sleep aids. Like Ambien on steroids plus some Xanax/klonopin/temazepam added.
Personally, I can’t do the heavy sleepers now that I have a spawn on the loose. But that cocktail worked for me before I had to be on constant alert. JUst a thought.

Just stopped the trazedone. Only worked for the first few weeks. And Seroquel was my mood stabilizer and it didn’t work at all. I woke up all night with a mouthful of cotton. No sleep there either. I am not like others. To make this new one Rexulti worse is that insomnia is one of its major side effects. I already have insomnia, who needs more. Nothing works.
