Fibromyalgia – raising your energy.

My Chiropractor specializes in Fibromyalgia and between him and the two Fibro doctors, Dr. Murphree and Dr. Teitelbaum I have learned a lot about Fibromyalgia.

Of course, the number one way to raise energy is to get good, deep sleep every night. Most of us know that, but can’t achieve it. I have severe insomnia. Nothing works on it.

Number 2 is to fix your mal-functioning adrenal glands. I took a supplement for this and when taken constantly I did sleep better, but the cost of these special supplements can be cost-prohibitive as in my case. If I take them consistently I sleep better and feel better. They are just not in the budget of someone on government disability.

These doctors all  have their own supplements that are supposed to heal Fibro. Try them for yourself, but aside from a few people claiming they feel better I had no success on using the supplements for several months other than the one for adrenal gland issues. I spent a lot of money for them as well. They aren’t cheap.

Lowering stress is another way to help you have more energy. Stress tends to put us into a flare-up and that keeps us from being able to function fully.

Another way is to have full testing on your thyroid. Most PCP’s only do basic testing and therefore most of us are on the wrong medications or none at all. My PCP doesn’t even believe in Fibromyalgia so he isn’t going to request other than the basic test and medication that will bring those numbers under control.

I believe in what they say, but I don’t believe that all those supplements are the answer. I have tried a lot of them (all 3 drs push their supplements and you can try them and see if any help you personally) and gotten nowhere but broke.

More research needs to be done to find out exactly what causes it in the first place. They can’t even agree on that. The 3 doctors claim success stories and I have heard on Fibro groups people claiming success, but I don’t exactly believe all these costly supplements are the answer.

I am watching my diet (healthy foods and ones listed as help for Fibromyalgia), trying to sleep right and fully and having my thyroid treated, but not all the tests that are recommended by these doctors. I am trying to do some minor exercise, but exercise tends to make things worse.

Dr Murphree, Dr Teitelbaum and my own chiropractor – I am waiting for the miracle that will fix my Fibromyalgia. Until then I will continue to read and listen to what you have to say and trying different things to see if we can finally beat this disorder that causes such pain to so many of us.

    Great information and thank you for sharing … : ) I have fibro and Lupus and a whole bunch of other illnesses ….
    Can you please share what health foods you eat and ones that help with fibro?? please ..But only if you have the time
    Stress now that is funny my drs tell me that I am a high stressed person with all that is on my plate and that I need to lower it..yeah ok..They know all that I have on my plate and it is not gonna change anytime soon..I hope in the future I can hope…
    Oh yes exercise my RA dr wanted me to work outside walking for 30 minutes a day my Lupus is so bad I have the butterfly rash all over my face for being outside for like 10 min and I had the sunblock on and reapply it often so that was for a MRI but now I am flaring with lupus and my face looks so bad and this dr my rummie knows how bad my lupus is and even the precautions I take I still flare just from the heat alone..and wants me to work out haha wait till she finds out I haven’t even started the pain alone of working thanks I am in enough pain…
