Another possible pain relief tip is the use of muscle relaxants. Although these are not intended for long term use they can help with pain caused by muscle spasms. Some of them also cause drowsiness for those of you who suffer insomnia like me.
I must warn you that there are many doctors out there that don’t believe in using muscle relaxants and won’t prescribe them. I have run into a few of these doctors over the years.
When I first had neck and back pain my PCP prescribed a few days worth of a muscle relaxant and sent me to an orthopedic doctor. He refused to give me a prescription for them as his office did not believe in them or dispense them. I ran into the same problem with the pain doctor I went to.
