Injections for Fibromyalgia Pain Relief

My rheumatologist is my Fibromyalgia specialist. I also have arthritis and Degenerative Disc Disease so he treats me for all three.

When I have specific pain areas he will use injections in the trigger points to help with pain. The injections are part Lidocaine (an analgesic) and a steroid. He limits these injections because I have Diabetes and therefore the shots will raise my sugar levels due to the steroid in them.

I have also had full steroid injections directly into my neck and back from my pain doctor. These shots were more for the DDD (Degenerative Disc Disease in my spine).

Thank you! I have many things to contend with and the injections are painful and I am afraid of needles, but I have had many steroid shots as well. I have learned to deal with them.
