New Anti-depressant…old, but new

Today my psych nurse decided that I should try Wellbutrin again. The last time I tried it was in the 90’s and they didn’t use mood stabilizers to keep bipolar patients from going into mania.

I agreed to try it again since I am on a mood stabilizer now. Been on the same one for 3 1/2 years though she did just increased it a few weeks ago due to my losing touch with reality.

I tried Wellbutrin once in 2000, but my anxiety tripled and needed to raise Xanax. Nope. Current doc refuses to prescribe Wellbutrin to me for just that reason, he does not think my anxiety level could handle it.
If you tolerate it well and it doesn’t worsen anxiety for you, you may have found a keeper. Good luck!

This is my second try. Hoping that the mood stabilizer will stop the mania. Can’t remember exactly why I had to stop it other than my mood. I tried a lot of anti-depressants before they realized they needed to be prescribed with a mood stabilizer.
