Fibromyalgia – To travel or not?

Most of us know how uncomfortable traveling just a short distance can be. Imagine several days or weeks of traveling.

Make sure your travel companions understand your limitations. Plan you itinerary in advance and write in rest and relaxation to stop yourself from overdoing it.

CHOOSING SIDES: United States. vs. Other Nations

This is important, please read. Thanks Dr. John for taking the time to do the research.

All About Healthy Choices

eu-vs-us-fight medium

When it comes to government regulatory agencies established to protect the consumer from harmful foods, chemicals and dyes/coloring how do U.S. standards compare with other nations? With so many factors used to evaluate”safety standards,” can we agree that the government should use scientific evidence supporting the HIGHEST STANDARDS (most stringent)  limiting the selection of POTENTIALLY DANGEROUS products, chemicals and dyes/coloring to protect the consumer? In other words, when in doubt, BAN THE SUBSTANCE!

This is not the case. Are you aware that different standards exist for different nations around the world?

.

For example, did you know:

“the use of lead-based interior paints was banned in France, Belgium and Austria in 1909. Much of Europe followed suit before 1940. It took the U.S. until 1978 to make this move, even though health experts had, for decades, recognized the potentially acute — even deadly — and irreversible hazards of lead exposure.”¹

Depression – To my Friends and Family

I am not myself, nor have I been for at least 5 months or so since I was last in the hospital. I haven’t recovered from that stay and the medication they put me on and so far my psychiatric nurse who prescribes my meds has not has much luck with the few things we have tried. I see her again on Thursday. Just a few more days to til I try something new with its possible reactions.

I can’t take much more of this depression. I am pulling away again from my family and friends. I am trying to pretend everything is ok so no one starts worrying about me, but my son, for one, sees right through me. Our conversations usually end up with me crying. Heck I am crying over every little thing as it is.

I am trying to keep my faith strong and write which is a struggle right now. I am not reading much, nor creating as much as I used to when I am feeling better.

For those of you that pray, please pray for me, for those that don’t please send positive thoughts that I can beat this again. I don’t want another hospital stay since it usually hurts more than helps and it is no fun.

I cannot beat this on my own.

Acupuncture for Fibromyalgia: Does it Work?

Acupuncture is an Eastern style treatment. Feelings are mixed on whether it works or not. I know people who swear by it, but I am afraid of it due to being terrified of needles and the treatment consists of the placement of thin needles in certain areas.

The good thing is that you can stop it immediately if it is not working. No weaning necessary.

TO: THE UNITED STATES GOVERNMENT

CC: THE HEALTHCARE INDUSTRY, THE HEALTH INSURANCE INDUSTRY

.

Dear Government, Health Insurance Industry and Pharmaceutical Industry,

As a doctor with a PASSION for health, wellness and quality living, I would like to THANK ALL OF YOU for creating an untenable situation that will encourage more and more people to follow A HEALTHIER LIFESTYLE to restore and maintain good health.

I appreciate that you (our government) have permitted a legalized form of monopoly (known as “intellectual property rights”) by granting the pharmaceutical industry the right to use patents that allow these companies to claim a monopoly over their “recipes” for various medications. I realize the pharmaceutical industry is NOT the only industry that has filed patents to safeguard their research and development, however, the pharmaceutical industry has used these safeguards to GOUGECONSUMERS who rely on these drugs for daily living. In case you haven’t…

Fibromyalgia and Cupping By Adrienne Dellwo

Does Cupping Bring Relief for Fibromyalgia?

The traditional method of cupping involving little glass globes that look like the mini fish bowls pet shops keep bettas in. The practitioner puts a small amount of something flammable (such as rubbing alcohol or herbs) inside the cup and lights it on fire. That depletes the oxygen inside the cup.

Then the practitioner turns the cup upside down and places it on your skin. The air inside the cup then cools down, which creates a vacuum. The vacuum causes your skin to dome up inside the cup, which makes the blood vessels expand.

That’s what leaves the signature round suction marks that make it look kind of like you’ve been attacked by an octopus.

Of course, glass and flame aren’t the safest materials to work with.

Because of that, some practitioners have left the globes and flammable materials behind in favor of plastic cups that attach to a pump. They simply put the cup on your skin and squeeze the pump a few times to get the suction going. The effect is the same, only without the risk of burns.

TCM teaches that cupping opens up the pores, stimulates blood flow, and balances your qi (pronounced “chee”), which is the flow of energy through your body.

It’s often combined with acupuncture.
