4 Exercises Deemed OK for Fibromyalgia

I know what most if not all of you are thinking! Am I crazy? Exercise with Fibromyalgia???

Yes I agree wholeheartedly with you. Just moving or lying or even sitting with my Fibromyalgia is quite painful. I am going to list the 4 recommended exercises and who knows maybe one of them will help you if you have the urge to try it. I personally think a warm water swim wouldn’t be so bad, but I don’t have a pool that I can use.

  1. walking – I can only manage about 5 minutes before I need to stop or get some sort of support. I have used a cane, but not at the moment. I use the shopping carts if they have them or find a bench to sit on. I spend a lot of time sitting in the car while my son runs the errands.
  2. swimming – sounds nice if you have a pool. Make sure the water is warm though. Cold water is not a good idea.
  3. stretching – I have stretched occasionally with very light weights.
  4. yoga – goes with the stretching in most cases. I did yoga for about 2 weeks and did loosen up a bit. Then I stopped.
