Doctors do tend to recommend that you do some light exercise with Fibromyalgia. Mine suggests walking (have a fitbit and slowly adding more steps) and swimming in warm water is another one.
Though for some this works the opposite and increases the pain. You have to decide which is more important to you and what your pain level is. I am trying to walk through mine before I become completely unable to walk at all and end up in a wheelchair.
