Danny you have been inspirational in my quest for healthy eating. Although I occasionally will have a treat (the sugary kind), it isn’t often anymore. My fridge has veggies and some fruit and meats. Protein is important especially to offset the carbs.
As others have said, as bad as diabetes is and being on insulin injections is no fun, it may ultimately save my life. No more grazing non-stop on sugary, high carb treats all day and night. I have to have a regular meal to go with my insulin. I am learning what my body can tolerate. My pancreas no longer produces insulin itself or not much the doctor says.
I had to go to an endocrinologist for my help with the diabetes. The general practitioner was useless. Insulin is serious, but it has been a wake up call.
