Thank you so much! There has been slow improvement. He is aware although his left side is mostly still useless or ignored as the doctor calls it.

Thank you! The stroke was on the right side which affects the left side of his body. He is left handed. There is improvement and they will be sending him to a acute rehab center for some intense physical, occupational and speech therapy. He still knows his name and birthday, current month, president, his dog and all of us. Unfortunately he didn’t get there soon enough to do much for him, but he is aware. However he is fighting the desire to follow my late mother. We have to convince him it is not his time yet. Hard to watch this proud, strong man reduced to this. He hates it.

Thank you! We have our good and bad times which they tell us to expect. The prayers are good! He is struggling and wanting to go to my late mother. I understand, but we can’t convince him it is not his time and he needs to work with his therapist. Tonight it was my time to feed him (help him actually as he does hold a fork or spoon and do a slow and difficult job with feeding himself), but usually my sister does this. She is gone for the long weekend and then on the 13th will be going for a weeks vacation. That leaves me in charge. Scary for me, but my daughter keeps reminding me to be strong for him as he has been for me these last 14 years. I am now on my own which has its own struggles.

Thank you! I just had another injection for pain, this time in my knee.
Afterwards the pain was 50 times worse. I wanted to cry and I usually don’t and I stopped it this time and spent all day with an ice pack on it. Today I can move around with a little less pain.

Just spent a grueling 3 hours or so traveling and the time with my dad at the rehab hospital and they are so unprofessional right now it isn’t funny. They got us to give them a good survey and then things went down hill. Add that to his not wanting to be alive in this word and it is not my best of times, but doing what I can to make his life bearable.
