Half is Mine by Teresa Smeigh 2019
“Put the cigarette out,” I shrieked.
“This is half my house and I am smoking in my half,” John said
Not thinking I grabbed it out of his hand and tossed it out the back door. I didn’t even stop to put it out.
John just stared at me as there was a whoosh and a sudden bright flame.
“What the?” Suddenly I remembered John had been raking leaves and building a bonfire for tomorrow night’s party.
“All that work and you just set most of the backyard on fire with your hysterics.”
“Was the tantrum worth it” John asked?

Smoking inside a house can make others go crazy. I can understand her anger and frustration.

We don’t use our brains when we throw a tantrum, I know I don’t. Get into a lot of trouble that way. Well-written story, Tessa.

He was an idiot for smoking in the house in the first place. Nice take

I agree. As a non-smoker I am glad to see it being banned in most public places and they have banned it in the apartments I live in although I can still smell it in the halls and the elevators so I know there are still offenders out there.
