Memories by Teresa Smeigh 2019

We were all waiting excitedly as we were coming closer and closer to our destination. Our parents had met at this little store on the side of the highway during a hold-up and we were making a trip to see the place that was such a large part of their memories together.

Mom started to count down the miles as our destination was coming closer and closer. Mom said one mile left and looked excitedly to the left of our car.

The area was run-down. The only building in sight was an empty, boarded up store. So much for memories.

Thanks! We had a similar story happen to our family. When we got back to the very first mobile home park we had lived in while ex was in Marines and we had no kids yet, we found the place totally destroyed. We knew it was the right place because the only thing still standing was the odd shaped office. It looked like a giant child had a temper tantrum and stomped and threw things around. It was definitely a bummer.
