Numerous scooters and dirt bikes raced loudly through the wooded trails. The boys suddenly decided to dart out on the road. Here insurance and helmets were required.

“Cop,” someone announced.

The boys split up and raced off fast. Kenny was tearing down the road back to his house. He swung the scooter around the corner and dismounted in front of his house, leaving it running with the key in it.

He jumped off and ran past his startled parents just as the cop pulled up and inspected the hot engine and keys in the ignition. “Son, is this your scooter?”

I still can’t believe he just didn’t drive it into the garage. The cop was looking, but he was just driving around. He may never have stopped.

Thanks! He was hoping to hide and it never occurred to him that leaving the 4-wheeler out there instead of in the garage would have been better.

Fast pace to this story, a little chuckle at the end at his foolish choice. Im glad it turned out ok in real life too. Sometimes the best thing that can happen to a person, to get them back on the straightand narrow, is to get caught!
