If we were to have a coffee chat this weekend it would be about my new insulin pump. I am still having trouble changing the supplies out, but this weekend I did it on my own with a video they gave me. Much easier than the book and pictures. That wasn’t working, but the video was a cross between a book and the real person showing me. I was successful this time.

So with the time change this weekend I had to change the date on it. I looked at every menu (I thought) and couldn’t find the place to change the time. So I called the 24/7 customer service and quickly got the time changed out. The one menu I didn’t check of course. 🙂

Rainy weekend, but the only snow didn’t stay and the next day it rained. Next week is warmer temperatures so some nicer days on tap.

I have to call my pain doctor’s office again (3rd time) to try and get my pain medicine prescription sent over to the pharmacy. I prefer the days of leaving with a paper script and knowing it would get filled when I wanted it. There is always a problem every month and their mistakes can send me into withdrawal if they don’t fix them quick enough.

Sunday is my weekly brunch with my best friend. Always a relaxing way to unwind. Have a good week.

    I miss paper scripts, too. You’d think it would be easier being sent electronically but I have had nothing but problems with this method and it’s their error, not mine. If I had the paper script and failed to get it filled, it would be on me. But if they can’t even send it through properly to the pharmacy, that is on them.
    For every step forward technology lets us take, it sometimes feels like we’re taking two steps backward.

      I am still fighting it. I don’t have it yet. Now if I lost the script or used more than I should and ran out it would count against me, but they are refusing to give me a paper script and their electronic software is NOT working. I found out today I am not the only complaining. They have to do something very soon.

    Hi Tessa, I’m seeing several things to be thankful for in this post. Congrats on doing that pump maintenance stuff, I knew you would get it, but I’ve already learned never to bet against you, and getting some quality time with a close friend is always as good most therapies I know of. For what it’s worth, I work in technology – and this stuff often makes me crazy frustrated. Someday, I’m going to be calling you for advice. Blessings, more and more blessings.

      Thank you so much. I am stronger than I sometimes admit even to myself. I used to be a technology expert, but over the years I lost the ability and the technology has gotten more technical. Now if my dr’s office could get their electronic prescription sender fixed I would have my pain medication. I am almost at the danger point of running out and I have spent the last week calling the dr’s office twice and the pharmacy once almost every day. I am really annoyed. I wish they’d get their technology fixed.
