Three Things Challenge: PL27
Rules from originator:
Welcome to the Three Things Challenge. Every day at 10PM (PST) I will post three seemingly unconnected things that will, hopefully, ignite your muse. You don’t have to use all three things if you don’t want to. There are no restrictions on length, style, genre, or anything. Simply read the prompt, see where your muse takes you, and bring us along for the ride. Use 3TC as a tag if you’d like and link back to this prompt, or post your link in the comments below so others can find you.
Happy Writing! 😀
Today’s prompt: divorce, umbrella, octopus
**************************
Sitting on the beach, under an umbrella, dozing off and on while her husband fished, Milly thought about her lot in life. Ron was becoming more and more distant and all he wanted to do anymore is fish. Even if he took her on vacation it centered around fishing for him. He didn’t care what she wanted to do anymore.
Milly looked over at the pier. Ron had caught several large fish. He was busy bragging about his luck. Well his luck changed as she watched. An octopus eased one of its tentacles up over the end of the pier and wrapped itself around Ron’s leg and pulled him off the end of the pier.
His scream disappeared as he sunk under the water. Bubbles rose, but he never did.
Milly smiled in satisfaction. Now she didn’t have to deal with a divorce. She got everything and no more Ron to bother her.

Forgive me, dude, I can’t help myself.
I stabbed the octopus with a pointy umbrella because it was cheaper than divorcing the big slime.
I fail at the writing prompts but at least I still have a wicked sense of humor.
