Watch Out!
By Teresa Smeigh 2019
The day was hot and sunny, and the bees were flying around the sugary drinks and the fruits from the apple trees. People were swatting at them and several of them even sustained a sting from the nasty little buggers.
Alex wasn’t paying attention to the fact that he an allergy to bees and kept swatting them away from his face and eventually one of them stung him. Screaming he ran to his mother who always kept the bee sting kit in her purse.
She gave him the shot as his face was swelling up.
“Why isn’t this working?” She asked those people around her.
“Probably because it is out of date,” said one of her friends who had picked up the package and checked the expiration date. “Did you check the date before you used it? How long has this been in your purse?”
“Since the last time he was stung several years ago.”
“Weren’t you aware that these kits had expiration dates?”
“You need a new one. Someone call 9-1-1 quickly!”
