Call Center Blues

By Teresa Smeigh 2019 (partly non-fiction as I worked in a call center although I did not have this problem knowing what to say)

“What can I get you today?”

“Samantha, how many times do I have to tell you to ask how may I help you today?” the customer service supervisor remonstrated with her.

“Same difference isn’t it?”

“No, it is not! And you have been through training longer than any representative in this call center.”

Samantha sighs and rolls her eyes. The phone rings again and she says, “What can I get you today?”

“Oh, for heaven’s sake!” Now the supervisor rolls her eyes.
