Imagine that feeling amped up several notches and persisting without relief and you have an idea of what it’s like to experience racing thoughts. This symptom often signals a hypomanic or manic episode in people living with bipolar disorder, although there are other possible causes.

You simply can’t sleep if your thoughts are racing and won’t shut down.

I have found in my experience, the racing thoughts also accompany anxiety and panic episodes. I literally cannot make sense of any single thought because my mind is racing with so many of them, it’s utter chaos.
