Summer Memories

My favorite flower is lilacs. I love the beautiful pinks and purples and the smell is wonderful.

I love Geraniums. I don’t know how to correctly spell them. This year, the first in several, I haven’t bought any. I keep forgetting, and no one else has them in mind. We have pansies, but they will die in the heat. Geraniums are always healthy, and they survive in the hottest of days.

I believe that is how you spell them. I remember when I was younger my dad bought my mom a bunch of gladiolus every week. He would drive past the stand on payday and get her a bunch. They are pretty too. I also love lilies of the valley.

Aren’t they though? They are my most favorite flower and I love the scent. I look for candles and things that are scented with lilac. My ex got me roses for everything, but I would loved to have a basket of lilacs or some other flowers mixed. Roses I just got tired of and he thought that every situation called for roses. Roses lost their favor with me after 100’s of them. My birthday, our anniversary or just for the heck of it was roses. I know some women never get flowers and I should be grateful, but he overdid it and he could have gotten me something I would have enjoyed that wouldn’t die the next day. Fresh flowers would at least last a week or so.
