My Mannequin
By Tessa Smeigh
“Wait, there’s my mannequin, Ron. She’s wearing my favorite dress. Help me get her out of here.”
“Linda! She’s headless. We need to get out of here. Find the negatives or we’re leaving without them.”
“Ron, get the books. I’ll get the negatives and the dress and then we’ll go!”

These tidbits have been continuing from week to week for about a month now.
Rules from Kat:
Each Tuesday I will provide a photo prompt. Your mission, if you choose to accept the challenge, is to tell a story in 280 characters or less. When you write your tale, be sure to let me know in the comments with a link to your tale. If you would prefer to post your tale in the comments (some people have very specific blog themes but still want to participate), I am happy to post a link to your site when I post your tale in the Round Up.
A final note: if you need help tracking the number of characters in your story, there is a nifty online tool that will count for you at charactercountonline.com.
I will do a roundup each Tuesday, along with providing a new prompt. And if for some reason I missed your entry in the Roundup, as I have occasionally done, please let me know. I want to be sure to include your tale.
Finally, have fun!
And REMEMBER…you have 280 characters (spaces and punctuation included), to tell your tale…and a week to do it. I can’t wait to see what you create this week.

I love how you’ve tied last week’s tale to this week’s. It actually fits perfectly. There have been a few people who have linked their tales for several weeks. It is such a fun idea!

Thank you. this one has been running for several weeks now, maybe 4 or 5 I think. Doing this has led to 2 long running pieces from prompts although usually there were more longer ones than just 280 characters. I have them lined up as possibly turning them into books if I get the energy and inclination after my memoirs. Writing them is taking a lot of time as memories keep coming up and I have to change things around or add them to the table of contents. That’s my outline which I usually don’t use for regular writing. I may have to learn to outline for those 2 books I have on the back burner as well as my memoirs. I am writing the middle of my life right now. I didn’t start with my childhood. That will be next and not sure if I will do the 3rd part of my life. It isn’t very interesting right now in my old age. LOL!

Good for you! I’ve been collecting poems with the goal of putting a few poetry books together. Best of luck with your book writing. That is a huge endeavor!

Yes it is, even the memoirs are rough. And my memory fails me at times which doesn’t help. Fiction is probably easier. I have my poetry as well, but that is not my favorite thing to write. I have to be in the mood for a really decent one to come to me and I have to write it when it comes even if it is in the middle of the night or I lose it.

Oh I do know about those late night sparks. Gone in a flash if not recorded. 😳

Books are evidence. Negatives are evidence. And now a mannequin is evidence? I will look at your previous posts to find the connection. The idea of the connected story is good.

Thank you. Sometimes I like doing continuing, serial stories. It can be hard depending on the prompt.
