Reena’s Exploration Challenge – 91
Reena’s Rules:
Welcome to Week 91!
PROMPT/THEME OF THE WEEK

Open and Free
By Teresa Smeigh 2019
“I do not wish to cheat on you, dear husband.”
“Whatever do you mean, my dear wife?”
“I have met a man, who I find dear.”
“I still do not understand.”
“I want an open marriage, you are free as well.”
“Do you mean I may continue to see my dear Rochelle?”
“What do you mean to continue, you scoundrel?”
“Oops, I thought you had found out about her.”
“No I hadn’t and I hadn’t realized you were cheating on me.”
“I am sorry dear wife, that just slipped out.”
“Well, what if this butcher’s knife should just slip and cut your heart out?”
“Oh please, don’t do that, I am so sorry my dear wife. “
“You are free to see your man, I shall never say a word of this again.”
“Lucky for you, I am the forgiving sort!”

It may sound good, but it was the death of my marriage in the end. 🙂 It was dying a slow death anyhow. I have been on my own for 20 years now.

Oh, it was, but a parody I guess you would call it. Obviously we didn’t talk like that, but I was trying to be funny. Open marriages can work, but more often they probably fail. It got me out of a bad marriage. I couldn’t just leave it. He did. I am happier out of a bad situation.
