Bouncing Baby Boy
By Teresa Smeigh 2019
A young woman was bouncing a baby on her knee. He giggled for a while and then became fussy. The woman got up and hurriedly took the baby and headed to the restroom.
Just then someone noticed a bright backpack just sitting there unattended. A man called security as we had been instructed to do.
As security surrounded it and debated whether to open it or call the bomb squad, the young woman came back and grabbed the backpack and took her now actively crying baby to the restrooms again.
Everyone laughed when they realized it was her diaper bag.

Laughing in sheer relief at not getting blown up/having to evacuate, I imagine!

Yeah decided to make it cute this week. That little bit of fear and her not even realizing what she had created. She just knew the baby needed to be taken care of.

You can’t be too careful. Imagine if it had blown up. There’d be diapers everywhere!

A good and amusing story, Tessa. We had something similar happen years ago the first time we took the children to India to meet the relatives. My daughter was wearing cloth diapers there and we had a bag of dirty ones with us. One of the men checking luggage demanded we open the bag. He had us rapidly close it when the odor struck. We laughed many times about that. 😀 — Suzanne

It’s better to be safe than sorry. On one of my trips in Asia, a bag was left near myself and a few others. Someone notified security and it ended up being an explosive device. I never imagined that would ever happen to me, but it did. A very nice story that ended well and causes the reader to think! Well-done! =)

Thank you! Wow that would have been scary and could have ended much worse for you and the other passengers. Glad you were not hurt or worse.
