I want to thank Mws R Writings and Paula Light from Light Motifs II

You both came to my rescue and although you both gave me suggestions for a civilian life title I have chosen Paula’s “From Pancakes to Prozac – A Memoir of a Disturbed Housewife.” This is perfect Paula. And I did start out my psychiatric journey with Prozac, which was a disaster.

Now the next part is figuring out how to represent my childhood. It was fraught with psychiatric episodes from birth and they didn’t talk about it in the 1950s so that was left for me to stumble through although my mother had some kind of anxiety meds that went in my bottles so I could keep the milk down and then she was always on hand watching and had that little white pill waiting if I needed it which I did quite often. My whole life was traumatic and chaotic.

Some suggestions that I came up with for my childhood blog that doesn’t necessarily make sense are:

Afraid of my own Shadow

My Two Cents

Stumbling into adulthood

Rock the Cradle

Beyond the Cradle

The Cradle and Beyond

Manic Mondays (probably being used in some ways since it is a song title)

It’s all in my Head

Thanks again and if anyone else has an idea don’t be afraid to step up. I am open to other ideas.

Help! Have a few writing questions.

This is about writing, but anyone can give their opinions.

My  blog book is named “Government Property – A Memoir of a Military Wife vs a Civilian Wife.” Now technically my title is military only and therefore I wonder if I should just do the military wife section (which is very small) and not include the civilian wife. I would have to do a separate piece for that one and then, of course, I already mean to do my childhood memoir separately.

Suggestions, please.

What do you all think? Should they be broken up more? Memoirs are small pieces of your life and not like autobiographies for those that don’t know.

That would also mean a new title for the civilian part. If you have an idea I am listening.

Also, have to come up with a name for the childhood section. I figure something to do with mental illness since that dominates my life.

Moving On!

By Tessa Smeigh

Ron added a sleeping pill to the boy’s drink before bed.
As he drifted off Ron said, “That should keep him sleeping all night.”
“Do you think it is safe here, Ron?”
“Yes, it should be. It is a large beach resort and then wouldn’t expect us to stay here.”
“I heard Nan was caught.”

These tidbits have been continuing from week to week for about 3 months or more now…hard to write a continuing story when you only have 280 characters per piece and a picture to fit in but I am doing it!

My breathing problems are getting better. I made it through the grocery store so have real food, rather than the junk from the food pantry.

Trent’s Rules

What made you smile?

****

Come on, I’m sure you smiled at least once last week.  Why don’t you share it?  I hope you can join in!

Here is list of “rules” and guiding ideas.  If you don’t have time to read it right now, just remember that this is an exercise to spread positivity.  Don’t smile about the misfortune of others.  Don’t smile in a way to excludes others.  Make sure a 12 year old can read it.

And remember, the Smile can be anything, large or small.  Nothing, nothing at all is too small for a Smile!  Sometimes taking time to notice those small, every day smiles is more important than those once in a lifetime huge ones 🙂

To join in, write a post to share your smile and then leave a comment on this post with a link to your smile.  Or, if you prefer, do a pingback to this post (pingback = have a link from your post to this one).   You can post any time until next Sunday evening (to be simple, I will say midnight GMT, which is 7 PM Sunday for me).   Next week I will compile all of the Smiles and do a separate post of them on Monday morning just before the smile.  (I will shoot for around 7 AM EST).

Try to use the hashtag #WeeklySmile when you use Twitter or other social media that uses hashtags. I searched Twitter and found that #weeklysmile had been used only a handful of times back in 2012 and 2013. It hasn’t been used since. So it’s ours! I also registered it on Twubs.

You can use the graphic at the top. It is the official graphic for the event.

Now go out there and find something to smile about! 🙂

“There are days I go in search of the kind, compassionate, loving and beautiful. Despite what we sometimes see on the news, FB and elsewhere, there is much more beauty in the world than ugliness, much more kindness than hate or cruelty. Perhaps we should all have a goal to make at least one person smile every day.”

Taking a Dive

By Teresa Smeigh 2019

Rose and Martin had bought their first house in Florida. They noticed the houses around them all had these enormous screened-in patios in their back yard around their pools.

As they met their neighbors, they started noticing these people left all their back patio doors open at all time creating an open house layout. They finally asked someone why they had these screens on the back of their houses. It enlarged their home they were told, and it was like having an indoor pool as well.

They didn’t have enough money yet having just bought this house, so they decided to wait, but as the days went by, people told them they had to worry about alligators coming up to use their pool. The screens would keep them out.

Rose and Martin were beginning to wonder. What were the chances of an alligator coming up to use their pool?

One day something happened to make them reconsider.

They were having a large barbecue. Martin went to clean out the barbecue grill and suddenly yelled.

“What is wrong, Martin,” Rose yelled from the house.

“We have company,” he yelled back at her and then entered the house.

“What do you mean we have company? It is really early.”

“I mean I opened up the barbecue grill, and it had several lizards in it. I talked to the neighbor, and they said it was normal, that is why they screened in their back yards and covered the pool. That keeps out the alligators and lizards from getting in.”

“Martin, we need to get a screen asap. It would also open up our pool area nicely and then we could have a covered pool as well. I like the idea. Please.”

“Ok, you win. We’ll get a screened-in porch as well. I will start asking where to get one at the party.”

“Oh, Martin, thank you so much. I would hate to run into an alligator in the pool one morning.”

Allodynia: A Rare, Distinct Type of Pain in Fibromyalgia and ME/CFS

This pain can be so horrible. No hugging, pressure of clothing and bedcovers and even the weight of air blowing over you. I know it sounds weird, but sometimes all my Fibromyalgia trigger points will hurt at once spreading the pain around ALL the areas.

For my New Readers – part of my book is up to be read

If you are new you may not know that I am writing a book, a memoir of my married life starting with being a military wife and then changing to being a civilian wife until we called it quits.

I am posting the book online here rather than traditional publication due to possible family problems.

Therefore there is a link up top that has 3 chapters highlighted which means they are done.

Or click here.

It is still a work in progress but will be publishing chapters as I feel they are ready.
