Weekend Writing Prompt #116 – Amateur – by Sammi Cox

Sammi Cox’s Rules:
The challenge is simple: each week you will be given an exact number of words you can use to write a poem or piece of prose. You can use any format or style you like; go wherever your inspiration takes you. The only rules are these:
- your poem/prose must contain this week’s word. The word does not have to count towards the exact word count total – it can be in the title, or the first letters of the lines of a poem can spell it out – you can be as creative as you want as long as it’s there somewhere.
- the length of your poem/prose must match the number of words stated in this week’s challenge. No more. No less.

(Last Weekend I wrote)
“Rhonda, you are not the one who gets the say in whether Connie and I divorce or not. You don’t get the choice as to whether we stay together either. Only Connie and I have that choice,” Ron said.
“I won’t let you stay with her. You are mine now,” Rhonda said, still laughing hysterically.
“Rhonda quit laughing, you are sounding insane. Connie and I have decided to try and work things out, and that doesn’t include you.”
“I am not letting you go, get used to seeing me around.”
“I will call a judge.”
****************
Rhonda began laughing even more. “A judge? You amateur!”
“Rhonda please control yourself. I don’t want to have to call a judge, but you have to understand you are not in charge here. I am sorry that I hurt you, but I want a second chance to make my marriage work.
