Weekend Writing Prompt #117 – Antipathy – by Sammi Cox

Weekend Writing Prompt #117 – Antipathy – by Sammi Cox

Sammi Cox’s Rules:

The challenge is simple: each week you will be given an exact number of words you can use to write a poem or piece of prose.  You can use any format or style you like; go wherever your inspiration takes you.  The only rules are these:

  • your poem/prose must contain this week’s word.  The word does not have to count towards the exact word count total – it can be in the title, or the first letters of the lines of a poem can spell it out – you can be as creative as you want as long as it’s there somewhere.
  • the length of your poem/prose must match the number of words stated in this week’s challenge.  No more.  No less.

 (Last Weekend I wrote)

Rhonda began laughing even more. “A judge? You amateur!”

“Rhonda please control yourself. I don’t want to have to call a judge, but you have to understand you are not in charge here. I am sorry that I hurt you, but I want a second chance to make my marriage work.

****************

“Rhonda, I view you with great antipathy. The longer you stand there just laughing insanely I lose more respect. Connie has issues, but she is willing to work on them.”

Jumping for Joy

By Teresa Smeigh 2019

Neto was trying to buy an apartment in this building just off the square. He had done his homework and was satisfied he had done the best he could do to persuade the owner to sell. Now Neto just had to wait for an answer. He was spending his waiting time dancing around the square and praying for the phone to ring with a positive response.

His phone was ringing, and so he dug it out of his pocket and answered. Mr. Newton had good news for Neto. He had been approved as the owner of the apartment, and so Neto started jumping with joy.

#WEEKENDCOFFEESHARE : Pain Returning; Dividing Memoir into 4 Parts

#WEEKENDCOFFEESHARE : Pain Returning; Dividing Memoir into 4 Parts

Directions from ECLECTICALLI

Weekend Coffee Share is a time for us to take a break out of our lives and enjoy some time catching up with friends (old and new)!

Grab a cup of coffee and share with us! What’s been going on in your life? What are your weekend plans? Is there a topic you’ve just been ruminating on that you want to talk about?

All are welcome! Just add your link to the Linky-List, and be sure to visit others and join in their conversations! The link will be open from Friday, February 8th at 7am (Pacific Time) until Monday, February 11th at 7am (Pacific Time) to give us a good range of “weekend”!

*********************************

If we were having coffee, I would be drinking iced tea because I hate coffee and can’t stand this heat. The heat is really acting up with my asthma. You may have coffee or tea, whichever you prefer.

If we were having coffee or tea I would tell you that the Lyrica is no longer working. I am starting to drop into a sudden deep sleep at just any time without warning again. The pain in my knees is also bad again and I am having trouble getting out of a chair.

My breathing problems are easier. My doctor says it is not COPD thank God. I have to continue the breathing treatments twice a day. Albuterol only when necessary. So is only asthma.

I am going to break my memoir down into 4 pieces rather than 1 large marriage one. My childhood, my life as a military wife only, my life as a civilian wife and then my current life after the divorce.

I would also tell you that Sunday is still brunch with my BFF. We meet every Sunday including this morning unless something comes up, which isn’t often. I look forward to it.

Right across the street from the front door to this senior highrise is an ice cream stand. I am going over for a treat I think. Bad place to have it when you have someone with a sweet tooth like I have.

Enjoy your weekend.

I used to think I would like to have an astronomical amount of money. I didn’t know how much that was and of course, I was a child at the time. I know that isn’t possible really now. Although there are some people I would consider as having astronomical amounts of money compared to me.  LOL!
