#Haikai Challenge #98 (8/4/19): katydid (kirigirisu) #haiku #senryu #haibun #tanka #haiga #renga
Rules:
Since Autumn begins in August according to the traditional calendar, what better kigo can we have than the katydid (kirigirisu)? Therefore, this week, write the haikai poem of your choice (haiku, senryu, haibun, tanka, haiga, renga, etc.) that alludes to the katydid (kirigirisu).
As always:
Here’s how the challenge works:
1. write the haikai poem of your choice.
2. post the link of your post to Mister Linky.
3. pingback by posting the link to the challenge on your site.
4. read and comment on other contributors’ posts.

katydids are like
crickets, long-horned grasshoppers

I don’t like bugs, but there are only a few that cause me to be deathly afraid of them. I had a coworker who was deathly afraid of them as well. Where we worked there were lots of them and I used to go in early and kill them all before she got there. If one was on the door she wouldn’t go through it. I may not fear bugs that much, but I have my own fears and understand the feeling.
