The Weekly Smile 11/18/2019 #weeklysmile – I am making arrangements for a lift recliner
My mom had 2 of those lift recliner chairs that she sat in all day in the living room and then one in her bedroom to sleep in. I know many people who sleep in them and find them more comfortable than a bed. My mom’s chair is still at the house which hasn’t sold or been foreclosed on yet so I made arrangements with my kids to bring it here. I don’t have a couch and the only soft chair is impossible to get out of and this is a lift chair so I can lift it up if I have to. It will be nice to have a comfortable chair to watch tv in. 🙂
PS I fell the other night and twisted my arm and cracked both my hip and knee on the chair that stopped me from hitting the floor. Thank God for small favors. I am stiff, but I didn’t hit the concrete floor and break anything. SMILE!!
PPS My kids want me to get a life alert alarm since I lose my balance and fall so many times. I can’t get up on my own from the floor.

Trent’s Rules
What made you smile?
****
Come on, I’m sure you smiled at least once last week. Why don’t you share it? I hope you can join in!
Here is list of “rules” and guiding ideas. If you don’t have time to read it right now, just remember that this is an exercise to spread positivity. Don’t smile about the misfortune of others. Don’t smile in a way to excludes others. Make sure a 12 year old can read it.
And remember, the Smile can be anything, large or small. Nothing, nothing at all is too small for a Smile! Sometimes taking time to notice those small, every day smiles is more important than those once in a lifetime huge ones 🙂
To join in, write a post to share your smile and then leave a comment on this post with a link to your smile. Or, if you prefer, do a pingback to this post (pingback = have a link from your post to this one). You can post any time until next Sunday evening (to be simple, I will say midnight GMT, which is 7 PM Sunday for me). Next week I will compile all of the Smiles and do a separate post of them on Monday morning just before the smile. (I will shoot for around 7 AM EST).
Try to use the hashtag #WeeklySmile when you use Twitter or other social media that uses hashtags. I searched Twitter and found that #weeklysmile had been used only a handful of times back in 2012 and 2013. It hasn’t been used since. So it’s ours! I also registered it on Twubs.
You can use the graphic at the top. It is the official graphic for the event.
Now go out there and find something to smile about! 🙂

“There are days I go in search of the kind, compassionate, loving and beautiful. Despite what we sometimes see on the news, FB and elsewhere, there is much more beauty in the world than ugliness, much more kindness than hate or cruelty. Perhaps we should all have a goal to make at least one person smile every day.”

So glad to hear you are getting a lift chair. I don’t think it’s a bad idea to have an alert. Those 2 things will help you keep your independence. That makes me smile. 😊

Wow, sorry about the fall. i think your kids are right that you need something like the life alarm. Cool that you are getting the lift chair. If it’s not being used, you might as well use it.

Thanks Trent! Sorry it’s not being used as my mother passed and so yes I should take it. I have very little room in my apartment so a couch is out, this will work out great and it has the lift ability for those days when the pain is just too much. Nowadays there are several of those life alert type companies out there especially for mobile phones as well. Have to get looking.

Thanks. Yes the falling happens way too often and I live alone so I would be there awhile. I have thought about it and guess now I will have to check it out and see what I can do.
