Committed! Recovery at a Mental Health Hospital!

A new website that I contribute to and to spread the vision of hope and regrowth despite what we have been through. Stop by and we are still looking for contributors if you are interested.

Out of the Ashes

I didn’t feel as if I had anything left to live for. My mental anguish made daily living unbearable.

Bipolar Disorder 1 with psychosis, Borderline Personality Disorder among other Personality Disorders (there are many, not just one), Severe Anxiety so bad that I was terrified of people, new places and even getting up in the morning, along with Panic Attacks that would stop me dead in my tracks were just a few of my mental issues. I also suffer from severe OCD so bad that I have trouble leaving my house because I am sure the door is unlocked and the stove still on, no matter how many times I got out of my car and check the door lock and stove. I have PTSD which started due to several rape attempts when I was a teenager and then when the twin towers fell in 2001 I was sure every…

Exercise for Fibromyalgia and Chronic Fatigue Syndrome

Exercise for Fibromyalgia and Chronic Fatigue Syndrome

I am going through this right now as I am doing physical therapy per my pain management doctor’s orders. In the first three weeks I thought I was going to die. It took two days to get over the intense pain and fatigue. I was only doing 2 days a week and for less than 30 minutes. Now I can do the original program and they added a few more exercises in.

Thursday, July 9th, I am getting my second injection on the other side of my spine.

I also have a back brace that doesn’t fit me right as I am short-waisted. The woman who ordered it, insists I am doing it wrong. I doubt it, but someone is supposed to show me on Thursday so we will see.

Thankful Thursdays – Please Join Me – 7/2/2020 – #4

If anyone wants to join me and post what they are thankful for, please either create a post on your blog and put the link in the comments or just post in the comments.  You can use my logo in your post. If I get some interest in this post I will see about getting a new logo for it.

I am a few days late for this one since I have been busy with my novel for NaNoWriMo.

I am thankful for:

–A roof over my head

–Food in my belly. (One meal a day is provided by Medicaid. So my food budget has decreased).

–Family, Friends, and Neighbors who care what happens to me.

–My 88-year-old dad is now positive for the virus, but he is asymptomatic and showing no symptoms of the disease so far. Thank God! No update on his status as yet.

–Social Security and Medicare are still intact. (There is talk about there not being money to fund Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid due to this pandemic’s financial drain on society.) I don’t even want to think about what would happen to me if something happens to them. You think you are set and something is bound to happen.

–I have applied for charity care for my hospital bill from the end of January that was 10 days long. Resent new paperwork and copies and a new signed application. I got a phone call that it had been received and should be processed in the next 30 days. I believe she was telling me it had been approved, but it would take a while to take effect.

–I have received a back brace from my pain management doctor. It doesn’t fit me well since I am short-waisted and have a large bust. It took a while to figure out how to put it together and to put it on, but my back is actually in more pain from wearing it. Don’t know if I am doing something wrong or it just isn’t going to work due to fit. Not to mention I can’t wear my insulin pump the way I had been. I had to put the infusion set on my thigh now rather than my stomach as the tightness of the back brace cuts off the insulin where it was on my stomach. It also means I have to have a pocket to carry the pump in since I can’t clip it on my waistband like I usually do. It is causing me a lot of trouble and not sure if it is a help or not. It has only been one day so I will find out more as the days go by.

–I still have 2 days of physical therapy left. I am in less pain and able to do the exercises now and they have added some new ones.
