By Teresa Smeigh 2019

Nothing more serene

than cherry blossoms in bloom

a colorful scene

Peace to All

By Teresa Smeigh 2019

Sharing the world with all of God’s masses.

It doesn’t matter about their classes.

Honoring immigrants, we’re all equal.

We can live in a world that’s peaceful.

Mother Earth, she embraces us all.

Oceans, mountains, and urban sprawl.

Poem Rewrite – Unrequited Love (originally called Raging Fire)

Unrequited Love

By Teresa Smeigh 2019

My heart is full of love for you,

But you simply have no clue.

My love is frenzied, not tame,

But you can barely light my flame.

Now and again a spark would ignite,

But that would set you into flight.

If you stayed and controlled the spark,

You would simply treat it as a lark.

If it went out, you couldn’t sustain it.

You were nothing more than a hypocrite.

If you stayed and followed through,

It wasn’t planned, just out of the blue.

I wish you felt the same about me,

But you feel you must be free.

I wish you well, you’re not for me.

Go on baby, go ahead and flee.
