The Weekly Smile 11/18/2019 #weeklysmile – I am making arrangements for a lift recliner

The Weekly Smile 11/18/2019 #weeklysmile – I am making arrangements for a lift recliner

My mom had 2 of those lift recliner chairs that she sat in all day in the living room and then one in her bedroom to sleep in. I know many people who sleep in them and find them more comfortable than a bed. My mom’s chair is still at the house which hasn’t sold or been foreclosed on yet so I made arrangements with my kids to bring it here. I don’t have a couch and the only soft chair is impossible to get out of and this is a lift chair so I can lift it up if I have to. It will be nice to have a comfortable chair to watch tv in. 🙂

PS I fell the other night and twisted my arm and cracked both my hip and knee on the chair that stopped me from hitting the floor. Thank God for small favors. I am stiff, but I didn’t hit the concrete floor and break anything. SMILE!!

PPS My kids want me to get a life alert alarm since I lose my balance and fall so many times. I can’t get up on my own from the floor.

Trent’s Rules

What made you smile?

****

Come on, I’m sure you smiled at least once last week.  Why don’t you share it?  I hope you can join in!

Here is list of “rules” and guiding ideas.  If you don’t have time to read it right now, just remember that this is an exercise to spread positivity.  Don’t smile about the misfortune of others.  Don’t smile in a way to excludes others.  Make sure a 12 year old can read it.

And remember, the Smile can be anything, large or small.  Nothing, nothing at all is too small for a Smile!  Sometimes taking time to notice those small, every day smiles is more important than those once in a lifetime huge ones 🙂

To join in, write a post to share your smile and then leave a comment on this post with a link to your smile.  Or, if you prefer, do a pingback to this post (pingback = have a link from your post to this one).   You can post any time until next Sunday evening (to be simple, I will say midnight GMT, which is 7 PM Sunday for me).   Next week I will compile all of the Smiles and do a separate post of them on Monday morning just before the smile.  (I will shoot for around 7 AM EST).

Try to use the hashtag #WeeklySmile when you use Twitter or other social media that uses hashtags. I searched Twitter and found that #weeklysmile had been used only a handful of times back in 2012 and 2013. It hasn’t been used since. So it’s ours! I also registered it on Twubs.

You can use the graphic at the top. It is the official graphic for the event.

Now go out there and find something to smile about! 🙂

***

“There are days I go in search of the kind, compassionate, loving and beautiful. Despite what we sometimes see on the news, FB and elsewhere, there is much more beauty in the world than ugliness, much more kindness than hate or cruelty. Perhaps we should all have a goal to make at least one person smile every day.”

Causes of Primary and Secondary Fibromyalgia

Causes of Primary and Secondary Fibromyalgia

While I don’t know particularly what the main cause of my Fibromyalgia is there are so many things that could have caused it and perhaps it is a combination of many. Stress is one of the many causes. And when stressed it causes major flare-ups.

Weekend Writing Prompt #132 – Draconian – by Sammi Cox

Weekend Writing Prompt #132 – Draconian – by Sammi Cox

Sammi Cox’s Rules:

The challenge is simple: each week you will be given an exact number of words you can use to write a poem or piece of prose.  You can use any format or style you like; go wherever your inspiration takes you.  The only rules are these:

  • your poem/prose must contain this week’s word.  The word does not have to count towards the exact word count total – it can be in the title, or the first letters of the lines of a poem can spell it out – you can be as creative as you want as long as it’s there somewhere.
  • the length of your poem/prose must match the number of words stated in this week’s challenge.  No more.  No less.

*continuation from last weekend and at least 5 months worth

 (Last Weekend I wrote)

“I can’t wait to take this DNA test and confirm this ineffable woman is lying and get her off of my back.”

“I told you that it is your baby, and you can’t get rid of me that easy,” Linda replied to Ron.

Linda reaches for the needle and jabs it into her abdomen, jabbing at it over and over.

“Are you crazy, woman?” And they rush her off immediately.

********This week!********

Ron regretted his draconian ways of dealing with Linda and her baby, especially if it was his. He felt responsible for the death of the fetus. While he sat there beating himself up, they were working on Linda.

They were searching for a heartbeat. Silence. Ron was crying, and Linda was shouting and cursing, and they finally knocked her out so they could work on her. With her quiet, they could hook her up for an ultrasound.

“There is no heartbeat,” Ron said haltingly. “He or she is dead.”

“Actually, sir, she wasn’t pregnant. There’s no fetus here.”

“I knew she was lying.”

Special Order Medicine Disappeared at Pharmacy

Some of my medications end up having to be special ordered. I dropped it off and when I came back was told it had to be special ordered this time and it would be in that night after 4 PM. I couldn’t come back and then something came up the next day so the afternoon I finally got there I was watching the girl looking all over. It was refrigerated medicine and she did check that. She pulled it up on the computer and looked in the regular spot which left her with the notice to get it from the fridge. Lots of discussion between her and the pharmacist.

They finally realized that two of us had put in the same order and they gave all of it to the other person. So the pharmacist had to track down the other person. Once they had it, they made a special delivery and the store covered my copay for the inconvenience.

Someone wasn’t paying attention.
